Ascend Academy: The Fundamental Principles of Reality | Spirit Science | Divine Society

Welcome to the first issue of Ascend Academy.

Brace yourselves, we are about to delve into the mother load of all spiritual concepts.  This article reveals the meaning behind the 7 Hermetic Principles of truth, directly from their source, The Kybalion.

I am about to present some very powerful information to you that may stir up a lot of discussion, and possibly opposition.  These seven principles are considered to be ABSOLUTE TRUTHS, and many ancient and current hermeticists, mystics, philosophers and so called enlightened beings regard its application to be THE Master key path to understanding the self and it’s relation to all that is.

If you feel within yourself that you are not ready to handle this information, feel free to come back and read when you are.  These teachings have been kept secret for thousands of years by the Hermetic tradition, only being passed between master and initiate of countless different occult societies across human history.  This was out of fear that this information would be used by those who did not quite understand its significance, or who had selfish intentions and lack of wisdom.  In 1912, it was published by an anonymous entity known as the Three Initiates(?) and has since been put into public domain, now widely available online.

I believe that this knowledge should be widespread so that we can begin implementing and spreading its profound wisdom and applications for the ascension of mankind as a whole.

It is clear that the ancient masters did not wish for these principles to be ‘crystallized into creeds by any country or religious sect’.  So while viewing this information,  HAVE YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE, and consider this to be a pragmatic philosophy for understanding the spiritual reality.

The dense quotations I’ve placed describing these principles are directly from the kybalion.org and I suggest you give that a read after viewing this article if you wish to go even deeper.  I will also try to break down what each principle means to us in our day to day lives as well as in relevance to our spiritual practice.  I hope this knowledge resonates! (THIS ARTICLE IS QUITE LONG; Taking breaks in between every other principle is recommended!)

“Intelligence is enormously sexy. “
Who are you exactly?  What do you like, love, hate, and why?  As F. Bacon once said “it is a sad fate for a man to die too well known to everybody else, and still unknown to himself”.
Therefore, my hope is that this article will help you learn something new about yourself, something that you can say “damn, I’m cerebrally splendid”
Now, not everyone believes sapiosexual as real but it’s up to you to decide.
Do your synapses sizzle away as your sensory pathways are overstimulated by intelligent banter and witty wisecracks?  Do you feel like licking the frontal lobe of every astute person you meet, and orgasmically exulting in every debate you have with every brainy whiz you assemble with?  If so, you’re probably a Sapiosexual.
As defined by Sapiosexual Kayar Silkenvoice, Sapiosexuality is both a noun:

(n).  a person who is sexually attracted to intelligence in others.

And an adjective:

(adj). of, or relating to, finding intellectual stimulation sexually arousing.

Sapiosexuality is also a neologism (a newly created word) and comes from the Latinsapien, meaning wise or intelligent and sexualis, relating to sexuality.
But Sapiosexuality can’t be placed on a spectrum like asexuality, demisexuality and sexuality.  Instead, it can be understood as a kind of fetish, where an attraction to intelligence can be felt by any person of any sexual orientation.
As one Sapiosexual woman commented:

I find the human body of both sexes very attractive but I will not take any interest, if they do not show any signs of real intelligence.  The more intelligent they are, the more attractive they are to me.

But not everyone agrees.  As one person commented on an online dictionary page for the word:

This isn’t a real word.  (It) makes no sense as a sexual orientation.  Only pretentious pseudo-intellectuals would use such a thing.  Just say you’re turned on by intelligence.  There.

Yet with a Facebook community of currently 4,734 members,  “Sapiosexual” appears to be becoming  a widely accepted and well established noun and adjective.
Is philosophical discussion like foreplay to you?  Do you feel more lust for the mind than the body?

Maybe the evolutionary sequence really is from matter to body to mind to soul to spirit, each transcending and including, each with a greater depth and greater consciousness and wider embrace. And in the highest reaches of evolution, maybe, just maybe, an individual’s consciousness does indeed touch infinity — a total embrace of the entire Kosmos — a Kosmic consciousness that is Spirit awakened to its own true nature. ~ Ken Wilber

We live in succession, in division, in parts, in particles. Meantime within man is the soul of the whole; the wise silence; the universal beauty, to which every part and particle is equally related, the eternal ONE. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson — Art: Jeffrey Smith

Well, I believe that our whole psychical existence is something just like this single sentence, continued since the first awakening of consciousness, interspersed with commas, but never broken by full stops. ~ Henry Bergson
